Their sweetest years were flying past, but I wasn't really

there.

I built my business for more time with my kids. Instead I was in meetings during school pickup, answering emails at breakfast, present at the kitchen table but snappy, or only half listening. I told myself it was just this month, just this project.

Then one day, I forgot to pick up my daughter from preschool.
